Updated flash for 04??

Hey guys, just replaced my FICM this weekend and I am curious if there is a new flash out there from Ford for my 04 250. My truck was last flashed in July 2009. My current strategy is reading VXBC9N8. If my current flash that has been named the "FICM Killer" is truly hard on the FICM, I would like to get rid of it. Also, I plan to have innovative write me a couple tunes, but would like to get the OEM software up to date first. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,

J.

The updated inductive heating was released in late July or August 2009 and another version was released in Oct or Nov that added some nice features. You should definitely get it updated.

Good question. I heard the new flash will throw a code if ECT and EOT get out of spec. I would actually like to get a cheap digital solution to monitor these tems while driving. Any suggestions?

After reading the info on this flash several times, I don't think the CEL for the ECT/EOT problem is active on anything older than 05.....

This is good news. I have an '03 with VXAP1 and wasn't sure if I should upgrade or not. What strategy did you have before and what improvements do you see?

Honestly, I can't even remember the previous flash I had. I know it was done February of '06. With the new one, first gear is a little sluggish, like it's letting the turbo actually spool up, but when it hits second, man she just takes off. I have no worries of cold starts, but after sitting a day, or two, the glowplugs seem to take less time to heat up, and she starts up almost instantly. Not so much turbo lag at cruising speeds when you try to pass someone without downshifting, it just starts gaining speed like a gasser. Overall, I really like. I almost hate to put a tune back on it. Like that's not gonna happen!

on edit: I know the old one was VXC??? That's all I remember.
