injector nozzle question?

so this week iam going to be picking up my stage ones from fairview diesel, guy is about 5 minutes from the job iam running right now and from what i hear he really knows his ****, 1200 for the injectors and he says iam going to be very pleased he flow tested them and said they are exactly what i asked for, my question is- im now thinking about nozzles, can i take them off and have a machine shop drill them to make them bigger and if i can what size should they be drilled out too?

I can't imagine trusting a machine shop to do injector nozzles.

And I wouldn't let anyone drill them.

I think I would only mod brand new nozzles to start with and not with just any old EDM guy, either.

What is it you want to accomplish with these injectors?

Converting standard AC's (Stage 1's) to "Stage 2's" is a nozzle upgrade for most builders.

You don't just "remove the nozzles."
The entire injector needs to be dis-assembled to get to the nozzle.
And it's way cheaper to just replace them with new larger nozzles than to enlarge the holes in yours.
Yes, they can be drilled, but only by a facility that specializes in it. Drilling would be 3rd choice of process to enlarge them: 1) EDM, 2) EH, 3) Drill.

Are they single shots, split shots, stock nozzles, 30%, 80%, 100%, 200% nozzles... You need to know these things in order for your tuner to properly tune your truck.

If he changed the solenoid he did it because one was bad, there is no performance part of the solenoid.

Split shot 160 is going to suck for HPO usage, better start looking for a AD from Dieselsite.

Stock nozzle means lots of PW to empty the injector to get a full 160cc out of them.

Sounds like all he did was machine the pistons, which is fine, and should give you a nice 30-40hp boost.
