Rear axle bearings

Replacing rear pads, rotors and calipers on my 02 F350 dually. Should the bearings be packed with wheel bearing grease or are they lubricated with differential oil. There was no grease on them when I removed the hubs. It is a Dana 80 rear end. Thanks for any help.

Gear oil only. Pre-lube by pouring a smallish quantity of oil over the bearings before you install them, then final lube is achieved by jacking one side 6" higher then the other for 1 - 2 minutes and switching sides. Be sure to check differential level before and after adding as needed.

I like to put a little grease on the bearings but definitely squirt some gear oil in the hub (about an once) before you put it back on the spindle
