97 up pipe gasket

Alright, don't feel like replacing the up pipes quite yet, was just wanting to replace up pipe gasket. Does anyone know where I can get the gaskets?!

Found the beans brass donuts, are these worth the money? Also, is there a gasket where the up pipe mates to turbo? If so, where can this be purchased?!

i went to my local NAPA (Rolla Motor parts , Ware, Mass) with an up pipe and found gasser donut gasket (I think small block GM) I went threw the boxes till i found that fit the pipe.

Then i put studs into cast "Y" pipe then used washes and flange nuts to hold them down. While I had them out I header wrapped the down pipes.

Note I did this while I had the trans out.

Thanks hayjayhorses, I found a part number on another forum for the GM donut. It's F17250, this is the part number for napa. Does that sound right? Also, how much of a pain in the *** to remove up pipes with out removing trans?

yeah the U-pipes are tough you will need extensions and swivels for you sockets, If the bolt are in bad shape you may have to hammer a 12 point 3/8" socket on the the 10mm hex heads.

you may be able to unbolt the trans cross member and lower the trans a few inches to give you more room. I have done them many time with out taking the trans down. Now when I pull a trans in a 7.3 stroke I take care of the Up pipes whether they need it or not

What do I need to look for on the up pipes as far as in bad shape is concerned? Soot, rust, etc? What does wrapping the up pipes do for the truck? One more question, the donuts go where the y joins the up pipes to the turbo correct? Is there any other gaskets needed?

I found a diagram of the up pipe and turbo system for the 97 7.3, there are only donuts on the top of the up pipes (one on each up pipe). I think I'm going to order the beans diesel brass up pipe donuts. I get off this damn boat march 30 and as soon as I do I'm going to remove the up pipes, wrap the up popes and install new donuts! You guys have been a huge help with everything, ill take pics and post them as soon as I get off work! Thanks again guys
