That kinda what I'm asking. I'm looking at running either a fast fuel system or air dog system on my truck. Do I really need my fuel bowl? Or is deleting it a better way to go.?

I am not familiar with the specifics of either aftermarket system, they simply are not needed for even significant power gains. The factory fuel system, filtration specifically, is very good and the question is then what would be used as a filter? I believe there are aftermarket systems, maybe the ones you arae thinking of, that have a remote mounted filter.

My advice is to keep the factory system unless you cannot keep fuel delivery pressure in spec under load. If that happens, either replace the in-tank pump with a higher volume unit or ditch the entire OEM system for something else.

Useing a Airdog or Fass system will replace the entire factory system. if you go one of those then yes you can delete the factory fuel bowl.

I deleted my fuel bowl several months ago. I already had a regulated return kit from DI on my truck. Just picked up some Parker hose, fittings and connections, and a couple of spin on filters and water separators with bases. Then I ripped out the original fuel line, replaced it with the new fuel line, relocated the fuel pump, and placed the water separator in front of the pump, and the filter behind the pump. No more fuel bowl, and it all tied in nicely with the regulated return.

I did this because the original fuel bowl cracked and leaked. The replacement was showing the same stress cracks in the exact same spot, and I just didn't trust the stock bowl setup anymore after that. The stock bowl functions fine, but it's cheaply made. Plus the spin on filters are just easier to replace under the truck. It also cleaned up the engine valley a bit.

It really wasn't that hard to do. The main thing was getting the hose and the -6AN fittings that matched up, and making sure I had enough of everything. Beyond that, I think the hardest part was removing the old fuel line. Maybe in second place was drilling the frame to mount the filter, water separator, and relocating the fuel pump. After that, it was a breeze. Seriously, it was a far easier job than I thought it would be.

On a side benefit.... I did find out that deleting the fuel bowl allowed me to still start and idle my truck when the fuel is completely gelled in negative temps. Something I was never able to accomplish with the stock fuel bowl in place.
