NHTSA Preliminary Investigation

NHTSA Preliminary Investigation
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has recently opened a preliminary investigation of 1999 - 2001 model year E/F-Series and Excursion vehicles regarding the performance of camshaft position sensors. This NHTSA investigation may be reported by media sources, and it may generate customer inquiries into your service department.

Please be advised that this is not a recall of any type, it is only an investigation by NHTSA to determine the performance of the camshaft position sensors. As always, Ford is fully cooperating with NHTSA in the investigation of this issue.

Please distribute this notice to your dealership employees who interface with customers on a daily basis.

So true, :agreed: thats Corporate America and all brands that can afford to drag it out will. The more time that goes by, the fewer older vehicles that will be left to have to recall. Waited 3 years to get reimbursed for a TFI module in the 90's.

If an airplane crashes the public is not allowed to know the full details of the NTSB investigation and the exact cause of a crash by law. That will be bad for the airline industry and the American economy it's reasoned. Who shapes thoses laws? The lobbists who donate money on behalf of the affected Corporations.

At least here at the diesel garage we can read whats permitted by law. You can't do that at TDS, only what they want you to see.
