4R100 trans quit today

I recently bought an 01 F-350 7.3 4X4 Crew srw, and today the trans quit on me. It has 190k, runs well and was driving and shifting well. Fluid is clean and has the add on in-line filter. I did the torque converter switch mod last weekend. The mod seemed to work well and the converter locked solidly and never slipped although when decending a hill, or decelerating, you could hear some noise that was not there before. Only one time did I forget and come to a stop and stall the truck, which is what I understand should happen if your torque converter is healthy. Today I drove from work and went 15 miles on the highway(did not use lock-up switch), when I got off the ramp and stopped with traffic, as traffic moved, my truck only revved up and would not move. If you let it idle and very gently touch the throttle, it will move a little, then slips completely. I tried the switch just to see what the converter would do and sound like. It began to lock, or did lock, and truck went to go but then didn't, but made some nasty noises. I got to my destination by gently stopping and starting, and tried reverse to back in, and reverse works great. I was suprised the rev worked at all. Seems to have no slippage and pulled it against the service brakes. Got the ramp truck and hauled it back to my shop and backed it off the ramp and drove it over to a spot to park, but I could tell it would slip if I powered into it. I originally assumed the torque coverter grenaded, but clearly not with rev and drive coming back a little. Anyone have any ideas? I am new to the auto. Have had all standards. Sorry so long, trying to give as much info as possible.

If you are in MI there is a good rebuilder who is very low cost I can PM his info. Not sure where you are located. He rebuilt my torqshift for 1/2 the cost of all the other shops and it works great with a 3 year warranty and he has a rock solid reputation. Sorry cant help other than that.
