Any nod- dual rated transfluid which is rated for Mercon.

Is I believe the ford wording. So basicly ONLY Mercon.

Some use it... but for the cost of the Trans I would stick with mercon.

Mercon IV or Mercon V is not correct according to the TSB's and owners manual or trans dipstick.

you want to use the MERCRON/DEXTRON III fluid do not use anything that is MERCRON V unless you have the $$ to rebuild tranny. Some have had the dealer try this switch up and it cost them the tranny down the road

looks like the torque drive is not mercon v rated but is mercon rated, looks like the right stuf, the Amsoil ATF however is up for debate.

amsoil

i have used the amsoil atf fluid in mine for a while now and it works awesone. i reciently did a bunch of upgrades to my stock unit after 140000 miles and tricked it out to haul a very large trailer . the tranny is done strong and reliable and i switched to amsoil super-shift fluid and havent had one lick of trouble. my 2 cents and experience is the amsoil works the best. im sure other fluids will work as well also but i have to stick with what worked best for me.
