Run Away 7.3L

Well this just happened at work yesterday so I thought you guys and gals might get a kick outta seein what happens to a 7.3 when it runs away and then runs outta oil. The reason it was in was for a bad turbo, turbo got changed and after what happened it was obvious that it was the intake side that let go. Well after the new turbo was installed and everything so called cleaned up truck got started backed outta the shop and then it happen. She went from 0-100 in a heartbeat with nothing but white and grey smoke and oil everywhere. People prolly thought the shop was on fire thats how bad it was. But this was my first run away in person and it was an experience to see thats for sure so enjoy

PS.. I was not the tech working on this truck it was the guy in the next bay over.

I will agree I don't wish it on anyone but if it does happen it is definitely an experience to say the least. Just remember if you have a turbo going bad a. don't drive it if at all possible b. clean everything up as in ic tubes and the ic itself and anything else you think has gotten oil in it to allow the motor to do what happened in those photos.
