Trans problem

Hey all, I have a '96 F-250 and I keep getting a trans trouble code popping up. One of the guys I work with has the diagonstic tool to show the codes but always used it on ambulances. My problem is that I cannot find the data link for this tool, can anyone suggest where it is? I have a 4x4 with an extended cab if that makes any differance. Thanks for any info or ideas.

Hey dude, good to see ya on here. Its a cool place, well at least over in the dodge section. I rarely venture over here to the Ford world, but thats cause I'm scared. Later

If you mean the connector on the truck its at the bottom of the dash just right of the cigaret try. should be black and have a cover over it.

mine's blue & black no cover, it's just to the right (passenger's) side of the center line affixed to the underside of the dash.

Be aware that not all scan tools will work with the old body style powerstrokes because even though it's an OBDII port the engines are not required to be completely OBDII compliant. But in a '96 it will be activated from the factory.
