Afe or Paper filters

I have an 01 powerstroke F250 with a 6 position switch and I have been noticing that I am not getting the boost that I thought I should be getting. I currrently have a Baldwin PA2818 on it and I threw an Afe on it just to see if it made a difference and my boost went up about five pounds. Now before you ask it was a new PA2818 so dirt was not a factor. But my question is does anybody know the cfm on the PA2818 befor I go buying a full system Afe cold air intake kit. Or can somebody suggest something better I do have injectors coming so I am needing as much air flow as possible. Thanks for your input!

I noticed the same thing when I tossed out the Baldwin paper filter. I only used it while the gauze filter was drying after cleaning.

Don at SOSLube sent me this link to the new Amsoil airfilters. They really have my interest piqued. The effeciency of paper, reusable like oiled gauze...but no oiling necessary. And pricing isn't all that bad either. I'm tempted to order one up and run it through the summer and see how it compares to my aFe.

The filters Amsoil has for retail are made of the same Donaldson Power core technology. So the advantage is, no oiling , cleaning, or potential damage as the reusable AFE elements.

Of course one could get careless with a air gun when blowing back the Power Core filter element but a 20-30 psi blow back will give the element a 40-100k life span IIRC.

Ryan-F250d,

We see this all the itme on all the boards, ANYTIME someone uses the AFE the boost goes up over any paper filter. Get yourself a Stage II and you will also get the mandrel intake tube that reduces restriction as well as the largest conical filter out there. Call us we have a sale on AFE's currently and have them in stock etc.
