The VFD has a 2000 F550 PowerStroke with the 7.3 and she's got a small problem.
Every now and again when ya come to a stop and then try to start up the truck does not move. You can floor the go pedal & nothing at all happens, but after pumping the brakes 2-3 times she will take off like nothing happened.
The local Ford stealership has no idea what's wrong with her & put in some kind of capture box that the driver can push a button on to take a "picture" of the computer to see what's going on.
I got in a arguement with a Mr Know-it-all who is swearing the CPS is going bad, but she starts and runs fine & the motor does not die or even stall out when the no go problem happens so that tells me it's not the CPS.

Replace the TPS assembly which is basically your whole fuel pedal assembly. They can be ahd for around $75-$150 depending how good you are at finding the best price.
I'm thinking the TPS as well. There is actually 2 switches on it. TPS and the idle validation switch. Unfortunantly, neither is serviceable, and have to buy the whole assembly.
sounds like your IVS, (Idle Verificiation Switch) is bad, if the IVS doesnt turn off to show off idle the rpms wont increase. the IVS is located on the gas pedal as well, like the others said you have to buy the whole assembly.
Ditto on what everyone else said about the TPS. I just wanted to add that if anyone has been doing any pokeing around under the dash that the TPS might be partially unplugged. A while back I had to replace my pedal box bushings. To make a little more clearance in a tight space I unpluggd the TPS. The next day I'm leaving for work and holy cow, I can't get anything except for idle. :damnit I forgot to plug the TPS back in. Oops.
So check it to make sure it's not just loose. I can't believe teh deale didn't think of that.
Thanks, going to check it out tonight and talk to the guy who's "in charge" of overseeing the fixing of the trucks   :thanks: :thanks:
