Is that a drop in kn filter? If it is they don't seal very easy in the stock airbox. First I would get a better air filter like a tymar intake it is cheap about a hundred bucks. http://store.airflo.com/psi-03.html or http://www.longislandperformancediesel.com/ Have you done the zoodad mod? That is the hole in the grille so you can get better airflow to intake. Then I would get an exhaust (cheap a Walker mufler...heard good things about) and a chip... Dp makes a 80 econo that will increase your mileage as long as you can keep your foot out of it. With all of that then some guage to help monitor your egt's.... That is quite alot right there and you will see an icrease in mileage. Not to mention having the proper air pressure in your tires can also help a little. I will have to see if I can find that article in diesel power. A 7.3 psd was getting like 25 mpg...something like that maybe more?? I will see if I can dig that up.
Good luck,
Steven

If you don't tow you could get your chip burned with just one setting. 80 econo.... as far as cheap goes maybe just watch the for sale section and get a used one from someone. I think the walker muffler is like 50 bucks at Napa. But do check out the for sale section .....
