Manual transmission

My transmission grinds when you shift to third gear. I think it may be the synchronizer. Has any one ever did this?

Mine grinds going into second both ways Up or Down, and down into first as well. Infact it more than grinds, it won't let you shift in unless you match RPM which makes it totally useless for compression braking. How many miles are on your truck? I'm guessing that you're hitting about the 140k range now.

It has 246k, but if the odometer din't say this you wouldn't even know because it looks so good.

Yep sounds to me like syncronizers for both of ya. I wouldn't grind her too long, you will be buying some new gears also.

Wow, thats pretty good. I was just guessing because everyone I know with a manual ford which isn't too many people has started having synchro problems at right about 140k. Anyways, yeah mine is dying and I think it'll will just be driven until I can't stand it and then replaced. If I just throttle up before shifting in an it will slide right in,
