Oil

What kind of oil should I use for my 7.3L with 246K? Should I use the Motorcraft oil or go with something else? Is the Cenpeco oil any good?

What do you guys think about synthetic oils?
I went with Rotella 5w40 because I don't plan on putting many miles on my truck. And it will be better in the winter. I have heard of people having trouble with 15w40 when it gets real cold. And if I put 10w30 in for the winter I probably wouldn't be ready to change it by summer. I figured the synthetic would be better for me.
Also how long do you guys recomend going on synthetic?
