Advice on cooling

I'd like advice on tansmission cooling for my 1996 7.3l. I will be pulling a trailer weighing about 8000 lb with my truck weighing about 7500 lb. I'm in central Queensland in Austalia, the tropic Of Capricorn is about 25 miles north of me. Most of my travel will be 350 miles north & south of here. My longest tip will be to the west coast across the Nullabor Plain (read desert) which will be a 5 day trip.
Would the standard cooler would be up to job ?
The truck is standard, what are the mods I should be doing for reliability & maybe better fuel economy, maybe more power for towing ?
What are the known weak links with these trucks ?
What spares should I carry, Ford didn't sell the F250 till the 2000 model in Australia so anything not common with the later models I would want to have on hand in the trailer (within reason)
The tuck is only used for pulling the car tansporter for drag racing & maybe the occasional play on the drag strip
Thanks in advance for any help.

For heavy tow in moderate climates a 30000 lb GVW rated cooler is fine. For extreme towing in hot climates or mountains I go with either an adapted 6.0 torqshift or V-10 cooler. Hopes this helps being the specs I listed are US and not metric.

I was under the impression a 30K cooler was better than the V-10 cooler. Do you have numbers on the V-10 cooler?
