7.3 boost and egt hookup?

i gotta friend that just bought a boost and egt gauge for an 02 7.3. two questions
how far from the turbo on the DP does the hole for the probe need to be? i was thinking like 6"?
on the boost, should he splice the line with a tee or drill and tap for it? if a splice which hose should he splice into? if a tap, is the the tube goin from the turbo to the bottom of the IC? Thanks!

PRE TURBO PRE TURBO PRE TURBO!!!!! JUST YELL IT YOU YOURSELF!!!

Boost, you can tap the Y just after the turbo, or you can build a T with a brass 1/4" tee, two barbed 1/4" fittings and a 1/4" to 1/8" compression fitting

Please DO NOT WASTE A GAUGE WITH A POST TURBO PYRO!!!

Or he can delete the intake air heater and get his boost readings there...

CSIPSD, why did you not drill and tap the exhaust manifold for the pyro insted of using the clamp on the tube?

Because at the time thats what came with the gauge I bought. I will leave the drivers side that way because I drilled and tapped the manifold for my manifold pressure gauge. The Pasanger side will be a drill and tap pyro. No real differance.
