straight pipe my 97

97 7.3 can i just cut the cat & muffler off & run new pipe to the rear?need to change anything else? what size pipe? not worried about hp gains but would like to loose some egt.

Cut her off and weld a piece of 3.5" pipe in there.

I put the MBRP 4" exhaust on my '97 7.3 and it turned into a whole new truck. I did mine from the turbo back and, after seeing how small that downpipe is, I wouldn't do it any other way. As rtxcoon said, the downpipe is a POS. get rid of it and enjoy the ride.

My next step is air box, and chip and guages and ....

a buddy of mine found a stock drive shaft in a wreckd truck at the junk yard for 20 bucks chopped both ends off and welded her in there not a shiny new performance exhaust but it works and was cheap just an idea
