added a K&N intake system weird noise now

i just bought a 95 F250 powerstroke. and i just installed a k&n intake .Now when driving in town RPM,S around 1300 to 1700 it makes a weird noise like a bongo drum sound from the intake.(like a drumming sound lol) it goes away when i give it throttle but its driving me crazy. do these intake systems all do this.?

I DO LIKE IT WHEN YOU GIVER THOUGH IT MAKES A NICE WHISTLE WHEN THE TURBO GETS GOING.

K&N filters are bad for diesel engines they don't filter very well and the oil from them will cake on the turbine of the compressor that could cause failure. Diesel engines just suck to much air for the filter element to handle, none of the diesel shops in my area will even sell them.(for diesel pickups) But that is just my .02.

I had one of my friends lose two turbo's due to the K&N, before we figured it out.

I have a paper open element air filter it makes the same kind of noise while the exaust back pressure valve is closed. (when the engine is cold and the outside air temp. is cold) It will go away when you give it a little more throttle and come back when you let off it. If that is all it is, the noise is nothing to worry about. If it dose it all the time it could be some thing else.

its -10 here today and yes the noise seems louder when its colder outside. i would rather listen to the sweet sound of the engine.!!!! than this annoying drumming sound . not sure if i can put up with the noise any idea if other intake sytems make this noise also. ?

ive had my k+n intake on my truck for over 50k miles and ive had not one issue... and my compressor wheel is clean.. the bad filters are the drop ins they dont seal right and alow to much dirt.. my theory on it... if it lets in more air... its gunna let in some more dirt... no open element filter is really "good" for these motors
