dual exhaust

I have a 00 powerstroke with a starght pipe exhaust from where the muffler was and I want to put dual 4in stainless on my truck but I dont want a muffler. Because I want the sound of straight pipes. Or will a muffler not affect the loudness very much? And also my buddy is a silverline dealer and he can get me the exhaust cheap so is silverline exhaust very good. And how does it sound?

Welcome. I've not heard anything bad about Silverline.

I have a dual MBRP system that splits at the muffler. I really like the tone and sound I get. If you are set on dual straight pipes, I would think any welding shop could create a 4" "Y" pipe so you could do it.

i have on mine 4" duals with a mufler from a not so well know brand it is loud, but not obnoxious. If you want to go straight pipe, get a y-pipe. The exhayst should come w/ a mufler, its a little more work, but you can put it in and run it to see how it sounds, and then with the y-pipe, and see how that sounds. Then you can make your preference. The mufler helped with my fuel mileage when i had it on, and another guy i no has the same truck as i, and he took the mufler off and he didnt git as good as milage. so..milage of sound? never heard anything bad about silverline either.
