Stereo Wiring???

I am trying to figure out which wires are the 2 rear speakers? Does anyone know the + and - color wires for both of the rear speakers in a 1999.5 F350 extended cab????

Thanks

David

if you are installing an after market deck they sell an adapter harness that plugs into your factory harness and has loose wiring to plice your deck to and they are labelled what each wire does saves a lot of hassle when doing an install

sorry

Your not going to like this but after I spent 2 days and a lot of headache, Ford has a problem, they don't what you to do that. After taking it to a shop they told me that they have to cut all wires to the speakers and rewire them for the AMP and Subs to be put in latter. At that time I called on my boys to help in the install as they have all the high power in thier cars and with them it was a snap. Even had new speakers put in the doors and a 10 inch sub under the rear seat left hand side. both AMPs are installed in the back of the rear seat between the springs. Great job and sounds bette then great. 600 watts driving the main speakers and 800 watts driving the sub. Took the better part of the day to so it up right but well worth the effort and I can drive the Country Tunes to the next county with no destortion.
Good luck

This is what I posted up on the other forums about car audio

Well I bought a G Logic box w/ a 10" Lanzar sub, Rockford Punch 600 watt amp and hooked it all up. Well I wanted to keep my stock radio so I went to Best Buy and got the FM module thing that allows you to hook up the RCA cables. It says to use the rear speaker wires and hook them up accordingly to the FM Module. I do that get power to the amp and have everything ready to go. Turn on the radio and the sub kinda is going in and out, and to me it seems like a wiring problem w/ that damn FM Module thing, but it is hooked up right according to the directions Any ideas???

I would advise you to go buy a good stereo with RCA jacks in it. Take the module thingy back to Best Buy and get either a Pioneer or Alpine CD player.

My brother worked at Best Buy in the car stereo dept. up untill a few months ago. He says that Fords factory stereo's are among the worst sound quality put in newer vehicles. Especially from 5 years ago or more.

Of all brands Pioneer has the best FM reception and Alpine has the best sound quality. Alpine is in a list of several second place FM receivers and in my opinion looks the coolest!

I love my alpine and will never buy anything but for high end systems well worth the money in my opinion .. and as you are finding the fm reciever deal is a poor substitute for a proper system

another option for stealth is to mount the new radio in a hidden location leave factory deck in dash
