Mods for Work Rig

Hey,

I am new here.

Just bought a 1999 F350, 6 speed, DRW, with 90k.

I am an arborist and it is used as my chip truck, and I am looking for some cheap MPG raising mods.

Can anyone suggest an intake/exhaust mods for my rig, or anything else to raise MPGS/power.

THanks!

I would recommend starting with A TYMAR intake or something like that. Any good open air intake would do. Also a free flowing exhaust would help some with the mpgs. Once you do those then I would recommend a multi position chip. That way you can have different settings for loaded and unloaded. Definetally remember to get some guages in there to monitor what's going on under the hood.:smoke

Since it's going to be loaded about 50% of the time I'd do the following.

Tymar intake
Straight pipe current exhaust
Gauges - EGT/Boost
Get your PCM reflashed by Jody at www.dp-tuner.com w/ the 60tow setting. If you want more options - then look at their multi position chips, SCT's or F5 chip.

Thanks for the replies,

I am looking into the TYMAR.

Also, what size pipe should I run, and where should I start with the new piping?

Turbo back. 3.5 or 4 inch is plenty. If you have employees driving the truck, I'd get only a 60 tow burn on the pcm, otherwise the mpg will drop and you will buy alot of rear tires.!

'00 cc f 350 a few mods, and a bts tranny.
