Gauge Wiring question

What kind of wire did you use to connect your gauges to power and ground and such, is 18 AWG copper stranded ok?

Yes 18 is fine, 20 is fine too for the lighting... Use good conectors with shrink tape... You can run your grounds common and your lighting power common to, one wire with T offs at each gauge.
