Ford AIC

I was wondering... Will the mount included with the Ford AIC work in my 96?

Where are you getting it at? When I bought mine, it came with the OBS bracket, and the SuperDuty bracket. If yours dont come with the old body style bracket, it is not hard to re-bend the SuperDuty bracket to make it work. Will take you like 2 minutes to make it fit.

Just some food for thought in this post. But depending on the goal for the aic, for just a few dollars more you could probably get a really nice chip w/ more than one setting. I realize you said you're a poor college student and all, but that's what I would do.

It definitely came with the superduty bracket... How do I modify it to fit the OBS?

I would have went with a chip, but I got a great deal on this AIC from my grandpa who just sold his diesel.

I see what your saying, but the bad thing with that is, thats not the goal of an AIC.......you get no performance gains out of it at all. The AIC has 4 different RPM settings you can go thru for high idle. Plus, it has a charge protect to keep your batteries charged good.

You could get a chip with a high idle position, and the performance settings.

Guess it all depends on what you wanna do with the AIC........good food for thought BigGreen.........

I agree, but by a "good deal from grandpa", I meant that it was free. He didn't get an OBS mount with it. So I figured I would put it in for now anyways. Any Ideas on modifying the superduty mount to fit the obs?

Steve....I dont know how to do it, but have heard guys talk about it before. I have heard its real simple. Best thing I can suggest is get down there and see what the difference is with the SD bracket and go from there. I wish I could be more help for ya on this. Seems like a sponsor on here made some of the OBS brackets a while back for guys....worse case you can start a thread and see if anyone has one.

And, your right.....you cant beat FREE!!!! The AIC is a pretty cool unit to play with. Do you have the directions for it? If not, I can send ya a link that goes thru the operations and settings and custom programming for it. Just let me know!!!
