SP Diesel Stage 1 Micro

Been Testing one of these for a few weeks. Tie's into the ICP sensor like a 18k type mod.

Its got three settings and you can feel them as you drive down the road. I was somewhat doubtful it would work for a damn on my truck with the injectors and such. But IT DOES on the lower chip settings. On the higher settings I simply run out of HPO.

If your looking for an inexpensive mod that is easy to install and will give you a nice kick in the pants its worth it. I cant say that I would run out and get one but for a first time mod, it is very nice. I would doubt you need a EGT with this for most trucks (cant believe I just said that...)

The "10K" and "18K" and "?K" mods are all variants of a resistor tied into the ICP sensor to increase ICP.

Basically tricks the computer into thinking ICP is lower than it actually is, so the computer increases IPR duty cycle to raise ICP to what it thinks is the correct level.

I'm not speaking for this module as SP Diesel may have it programmed to do more than just this, but that is the basics of how the "resistor" mods work.

It is micro processer controled, It knows when you are not on the gas so it doesnt boost it, but when you get on it bang its right there.

That's very cool.

I'd be willing to try one to try and crank my ICP.

I was suprized. I will tell you it will throw a ICP code in two seconds on the higher chip settings but on the tow and daily settings I have to work it and on stage 3 (of the micro) to get one.

ICP= Injector control pressure

IPR= Injector pressure regulator

Yes its fine with a chip, would give a better kick with stock injectors too. I would LOVE to try it with Big oil!!! But it has to go back soon
