Water/meth tank above nozzles?

I've got a Snow kit and the instructions say if the tank is above the nozzles, you need a solenoid ...makes sense. Problem is I'm still wary about something going wrong and hydrolocking the engine. Does anyone have a setup where the tank higher and using a solenoid? Other experiences? TIA

Yup you need the solenoid if the take is higher than the nozzles otherwise the water will just flow and you would hydro lock

To me, doesn't matter if the tank is high or low, put the solenoid in there and never worry. 70k with water meth and not one issue...

That's actually one option I didn't think of ...the small added cost would be worth the piece of mind.

I guess my follow up question would be do I have to go with the solenoid Snow sells, or can I pick one up anywhere?

Yup, then hook that to the power supply on the pump, when the pump turns on the valve opens, when it stops the valve closes...
