Few questions here, tuning and injector stuff...

First off I have done my homework and reseached this topic heavily. I've learned that I have AA injectors in my 96 OBS truck that are rated below 100.

I'm torn between the DPP RDS rebuilt injectors or the DIY stage 1's. I'm just looking for a little kick to my daily driver and work horse. I also plan on doing the 99-up 7.3 intercooler and either a turbo back exhaust or atleast removing the cat at the same time.

My major pain here is that I CAN'T be out of the truck very long, this is why I'm leaning towards the DPP kit because they are done and ready to go. I know if I tear mine down even though its running great now I'll have six bad nozzles and break all of the dowel pins. This way I have no risk of this and an extra $200 is nothing to pay for this security.

Next, my MAJOR question is will this work with the stock programming or better yet the SCT base files? This maybe on a tuner level but can I use the "Fuel Pulsewidth Table" from a 99-03 7.3 to correct for the larger injectors after I do this?

Like I said I just mainly use my truck for towing and for the light loads I tow, less then 7500lbs, it does Ok but of course like us all I can't stand to pull away from a light and have a Hyundai pass me because my truck will barely move.

Thanks for all of your help!

1. your injectors should be 90cc's from factory
2. as long as you stay single shots you will be fine(i daily drive and pull mine) intercooler will take a little work but is worth it, stiaight pipe the exaust, get rid of the crush pipe!(down pipe)
3. this is very true
4. a nice flip chip from somone on the venders list will work best! A 99up uses split shot injectors, so computer and injectors and some wiring would have to change to do this so its not worth it yours will work fine! just ask somone like DP Tuner a vender here!
5. must kill all rice burners!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:smoke

96 F-250 4X4,DP Tunner, EZmod, up graded IDM, custom drive shafts, staight axle up grade, 5-speed,head studs, bps bypass, dual HPOP's, AFE Filter, aeromotive fuel system, tubes, springs, oringed, copper head gaskets, 5" stacks (all chrome), south-bend dd clutch, H2E big spinny thing, some hugh-jazz injectors, 3" body lift (had to fit the turbo in), homemade traction bars fromt and rear, blood sweat & lockers!!
Four different trucks had to die to make this one!!!!!!!!!!!Thats why we call him FRANKEN STROKE! Too much fuel, and not enough money

Sled pulling in NC,TENN,VA,and anywere else theyll let us!!!!!

P.S. Dont be afraid of the sawzall! It can fix anything!

For the price difference between the diy and the RDS injectors I'd just Get the RDS injectors because they have done enough injectors they know just what to look for when rebuilding them and can replace any thing that needs to be replaced an untrained eye might miss. I did have a little issue whith my injectors when I rirst got them but Darrel at DPP and Jim at RDS are good guys and easy to deal with and helped me get it all straighted out.

What issues did you have with them? Also, RDS remans them for DPP? I really like the price on the reman 160 singles.

for some reason it had a miss when it was idleing and under no load. but when you got on it it would smoothe out and run good. The biggest part of my problem was that my scanner was comming up with the wrong cylinder when I run a cylinder contribution test. so I replaced the wrong one first and when it didn't fix it I ended up sending all 8 back and jim at RDS put them in hes personal truck to find out which one was bad, because they all tested out good on the bench.
I have heard of people haveing simaler problems with rebuilt injectors from other companys too, sometimes even the experts make mistakes. That was back in febuary and I have had no issues since, so I am still happy with my RDS injectors.
