First off...what kind of shape is the fluid in? Is it burnt?

I would then contact RacerX as he is our resident Ford tranny guru...especially the E4OD.

Welcome to the site by the way. I hope your troubles get resolved quickly.

If you are changing the tranny fluid after 1k miles because its burnt...you have some serious issues. I would get that tranny looked at soon...if not yesterday.

Unfortunely it sounds like wear has taken it's toll. Especially if 1 will pull but D slips and fluid burns in 1K miles. Cooling system should be checked for a clog. Press the OD light on the end of the shifter. Make sure it lights up. If it hasn't flashed but works when pushed, it's very likely worn parts.

The only hope I can give you is the pan filter has dropped out of the inlet. Or it's a 4x4 with a 2 wd filter. Good luck.
