power loss?

Ok, since installing my DP tuner, i've noticed a strange issue. Sometimes, the truck has no power. Today on the way to work on the 80 econo setting, I couldn't maintain 50mph on a slight uphill in 5th gear, maybe 1600-1750 rpm. Once the rpms hit 2000, it takes off like a raped ape just like usual, but in lower RPM situations, it can't get out of its own way. It also seems to smoke less under hard accel over 2000rpm when it is doing this too. Less power than the stock setting used to have. I dont know if its related to the chip issue, or if it has just started after installing the chip. I put it back on the stock setting and it still felt kinda sluggish.

It is intermittent. Some days it runs great, plenty of that low end torque, but some days it sucks. I'm also way low on fuel, light is on. Could this be related?

I'm thinking its gotta be somethign fuel related, because of the reduced smoke. My fuel filter is about 6,000 miles old, from mid march. I've been filling only with shell ULSdiesel and diesel kleen. I dont have a fuel pressure gauge so I dont know if my pressure is dropping off? Maybe picking up air in the lines? It still screams once it starts boosting so I dont know if a low rpm power loss but normal high rpm performance could be a fuel issue?

any ideas? thanks fellers.

Paul

new air filter, low EGT's, boosts to 22-23lbs on 80, will trip overboost on 120 race setting, so i dont think its a boost leak. no discernable shaft play in the turbo as of about a week ago...

Autoenginuity will tell you everything (if you get the full Ford package), but it's kinda spendy. Best price I have found is from Dennis at ITP: http://www.itpdiesel.com/store.php?c...on=show_detail

ok, a little update. drive home from work to station was fine, plenty of power. fueled up and drove home, plenty of power. Changed my fuel filter, and parked the truck.

Drove to walmart about 2 hours later, truck was a dog. Left walmart, truck was back to normal.

It if its doing it, it does it until I shut the truck off. Its so 100% on/off that now i'm thinking its either chip related, or a stuck EBPV. Anyone have any ideas?

Mine has sorta been doing this as well. But it only seems to be a complete turd if I set it back to stock. Great on all of the other settings.
