how hard is it to change the gprm

anyone? my check engine light is on on my 00 psd excursion so i ran my scanner it says glow plug relay modulator. does anyone know if its an easy fix , sorry im new to the whole diesel thing thanks, any info will help:shrug:

Its actually very easy. It sits on the passenger side of the motor. You might actually have what looks like two of 'em. But I believe the rearward one runs the air intake heater...and the one closer to the front is the glow plug relay. I don't have the part number in front of me...but NAPA will be cheaper than the dealer. Then it's just disconnecting the wires, removing the relay...and reversing the process to put the new one in. Maybe 1/2hr worth of time including beer breaks.

i just bought a glow plug relay for me obs the other day from shmucks and it was 60

{95 F250 Powerstroke XLT} 5 spd, Wildman 6 pos. chip, custom IC, ADs, AFE stage 2 intake, 3" down pipe to custom 5in stack. EBPV break, shimed FPR, idm mod by mattymx, CCV mod, Leveling Kit, diprocol egt and boost guages.

Only because I've had mine replaced.....Glow Plug MODULATOR. Excursions don't have a Glow Plug Relay. Which in case of Ford costs about $222 for the part.
