A little help for my dad

My dad has a early 99 7.3liter. His problem is the truck will just stop running. It happened about 3 days ago in the morning. So we changed the CPS with his spare in the glove box. Truck ran great for about 1 day and then today the samething happened. Sometimes when the truck is cold. Sometimes when hot. He has ordered a new CPS and it should arrive in a couple of days. ( Thinking that maybe he got a fluke ) I checked his truck for codes and got P0603.-Internal Control Module KAM Error . I think we got this code a year ago and was thinking it has something to do with the CPS. He seems to go though them every 20-25,000miles.

What does this mean. The truck has 110,000miles on it. It also has a very old banks chip in it.

the KAM code is because of the chip. id check the chip before spending anymore money, if its loose or has a dirty contact it can cause that exact problem, i would pull it out entirely to eliminate it from the equation and see how the truck runs then.
