semi-dumb question

what size rear-end is int the 2001 f-250's? i got a price for gears from a local buddy but i dont know what size rear-end in order to order.

2001 F-250 4x4 Lariat 4-door.. 4" exhaust turbo "straight" back to a 5" tip , Airaid stage 1 intake, Superchip 1805 flashpaq, "Built" Tranny, 8" skyjacker, 38x15.50x20 Toyo Open Country M/T, 20x10 KMC XD diesels chrome, Autometer Ultralite II gauges, AIH delete plug,Billet Big Mouth Pioneer AVIC-D3 headunit, kicker rear and polk front door speakers, JL Audio 300/4 amp, 2 JL Audio 12" w1

JUST CAUSE ITS SMOKIN, DON'T MEAN ITS BROKEN

It's a 10.5" Sterling rear.

07-6.0 4X4 CC Lariat Tow Boss w/36,000 trouble free miles.
CCV-Zoodad-Harpooned, cat delete, otherwise

wow that concerns me. the guy thats doing it asked me if it was a 8.8 or a 9.75" rear-end.

Do the gassers have smaller rear ends in the SD's?

He's thinking of a F150, or an old body style LD 250.

well im gonna tell him that before i tell him what size JUST too make sure. he works at FORD its just a side job. he did my buddies mustang gears perfectly.

No, all SD's have Sterling rears, from 2000+ they all have 10.5" ring gears.

Early 99's have the same axle but with 10.25" ring gears, I believe they switch to 10.5" mid-year of 99.
