What indicates its time to rebuild an IPR?

As the question states. In addition, whats the service life of this part? Im approaching 90,000 and my Truckasaurus sees ALOT of road time, especially highway. I know for a fact that the previous owner of this truckasaur only had "Regular" Dealership services performed, and I doubt that it included such "Detail" Service as the rebuild of the IPR. SO! Symptoms? Is it something I should just DO at this point? and yeah yeah, Im searching the site STILL.

"MOby" The big white bio-burning 03 7.3 4x4. 6637, straight piped stock exhaust, and a new "secret" blend of Haul asBLEEPsing mods and upgrades. Suffice to say, its still not the fastest, but its quick enough to worry lots!

I'm not sure if you can rebuild an IPR as there's a couple tiny cylinder pieces and a spring involved when disassembled. I know you can clean the IPR, but must be careful not to lose those tiny pieces otherwise it's $300+ at the International dealership.
