boost prob still

I just took off the elbow and boots and checked the rest of the system. I taped the elbow, put boost gauge into it and cleaned and check the boots. Still only 7 lbs. of boost. compressor wheel looks and feels good. 2 gauges don't lie. I am so lost. help

you ever check the up-pipes?

Also make sure you have no kinks in the boost line.

wouldn't it be loud if it was leaking. spray soap and see if it bubbles?

Under what conditions are you seeing 7lbs of boost? 3200 rpm in 3rd or 4th with the throttle on the floor or just cruising down the freeway maybe with a little load?

Is this a "New" condition after a certain mod?

Does it smoke real bad?

You can check the end play of the turbo by removing the intake and pulling/pushing on the wheel. Should be zero play...

I have heard of them going bad before but not real often.

I'm not real sure how to check an OBS MAP sensor. They have a digital signal that is sent to the pcm. Best bet would be to hook it to the scanner and see what it says the boost psi is and compare it to your gauge.
