99-01 Cylinder Head Differences

Are there any differences in cylinder heads from 99-01? I am looking at purchasing a used set of heads so I can start building them up before I do my head studs. I also would like to know what to look out for. Is it common for these heads to warp? If so, will I be able to have them decked? what would you pay for a used set of heads?

I don't believe there are any differences in the heads themselves. No, it's not common for them to warp, but I would mill them to make sure they are flat. This is absolutely paramount for use with specialty head gaskets like the Cometics.

no difference. Have them surfaced but ONLY as much as need be to make the true. Also if they have a lot of miles on them you'll probably need t least new exhaust valve guide seals. I'd recomend replaceing all the valves and springs. You will want to make sure to work with your machine shop in getting the spring seat pressures set properly. Tell them how much boost you plan to run and set them up accordingly or you will have valves floating into pistons. To be sure you could call Crane and tell them how much seat pressure and how much over the nose pressure they want to see for the amount of boost you are running.
