Driveline vibration ?

My "humming" noise has quickly gotten much worse and pretty sure it is in the driveline. My question is, should there be any "play" in the hanger bearing? And, is there anything special I need to know about replacing it?
I just backed my truck into the garage to let it dry off before I go out and work on it. We just got 3 inches of wet snow. Any help always appreciated
Thanks D

There shouldnt be any play at all in the carrier bearing. The only thing that should be able to move around is the the rubber that encases the bearing. I was able to use a bearing puller/ splitter to get behind the bearing and a press to get the bearing off of the shaft. To install the new bearing i used a punch and a hammer on the inner race of the bearing to get the bearing on all of the way.

my carrier bearing went bad and it made a humming and vibrating noise some times, so maybe your carrier bearing is going bad

Actually, I found I have two problems. The rear U-joint was joint was shot, needles gone from one cup. Also, the carrier bearing needs replaced. The bearing itself seems good but the rubber was way loose inside the holder. I could move the driveshaft at least 3/8". I got the u-joint replaced but I can't get the nut off the yoke to remove the carrier bearing. I'll take it the drive shaft to a shop tomorrow. Thanks for your help guys.
