somthing wrong???

ive riddin in a few 7.3 and i can hear the turbo real good except for on one of my friends truck you hear no turbo what might be wrong

Your buddy that it can't be heard in probably doesn't have the exhaust and intake opened up. Need more airflow.

What year is it? And What years have you heard whissle? but I would have to agree on the comment above. You need to open the intake and exhaust.

Do the early 99's have a different turbo from the later ones??? My turbo whistles like crazy and is stock as far as I know. Like almost 6.0 loud different pitch of whine though.

It is different from the later SD's. It is basicaly and OBS turbo. They sing really well too.

Yes. The early '99 turbo has the same compressor wheel as the OBS trucks, which is the exact same thing as the 'wicked wheel' upgrade.

2002 F-350 Lariat crew cab 4x4 PSD auto, DRW with 163,000 miles, Ford AIS, otherwise all stock.

1994 F-250 PSD, 5 speed, open intake, 5" single stack, gauges, DynaMat, 302,000 miles.

my friend has a 2001 its strait piped 4" gettin an intake this week the one that whistels is a 99 its a factory stait pipe whistles like my 6.0 almost
