Trans Temp...

What is a dangerous temperature for an auto tranny? I just installed an auto meter trans temp gauge, with a tripple gauge pod (couldn't afford pyro and boost right now..lol). Just wondering at what temp I should be concerned. Drove around a bit, kinda gettin on it and the temp got up to 200F. Then backed off a little bit at it went down to 150F and stayed there. Thanks!

225-230 is the red line, really should add a bigger cooler if your seeing 200 empty... Towing you will get much hotter!

On my 2000, mine stayed fairly cool with the shift kit. I usually was around the 150-160 mark. I tried not to let it get over 200, if I got to 210-220, I pulled over. Didnt want to get to the oil breakdown level.
