Converters

Ok, so I am just about to rebuild the trans in my '96 F250 4x4 and am looking for a really good converter. I realize this is a fairly ambiguous statement. I am going to be putting about a 12" lift and 38's. I don't have any exact plans for power yet, except that I will be doing something (such as a chip for sure and we have talked about making twins for it) Anyways, I don't ever want to have to rebuild the trans and would like the converter to last as long as possible. Anyways, thanks for everyones input.

Check out the X6TC convertor there. It will take a lot of mods to out grow that convertor (good to 400 - 450 hp)

They will come up with about anything they can think of to void the warranty if you have problems. The ATS convertor also has some questionable components in it...so I've heard.

I haven't had any problems with mine almost had to have some warrenty parts from them and they were ready to send them. I know about 10 or more people that have with no problems.

Also alot of the biggest horsepower trucks have an ATS

:barf: ats's warranty sucks. they say its good for 3 years or 150k but they finds ways to get out of covering the part.

go with suncoast triple lock converter you wont go wrong with suncoast parts.

Yeah, my friends that have run ATS trannies in their dodges have all had issues with them. One blew up 300 miles after leaving the ATS shop on his way back to Ca. And they installed his FASS wrong too.

I second that dunrite converters question. They make a good converter for the dodges.
