turbo questions

well I'm still trying to decide what turbo I want to run in my 96. My goal for now it to make around 500hp. the way its looking I think the modified h2e, or qssb may be the way to go. is there any other options out there that will make that kind of power in that price range, maybe from turbonetics?

also I am planning on sled pulling the truck and some of the classes I would like to pull in have a 2.5 inducer limit will those turbos fit in that. if i have to jump up a class I will.

and last what engines did the stock versions of the h2e and qssb come on. I may try and find find a used one off a truck in good shape to have modified. I know this one isn't very good but a is it the same as the powerstroke H2E.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Holse...spagenameZWDVW

i dont wont this to become an argument about what the best turbo is just want to know what my options are and then I'm make my decision.

The H2E was on the L10 Cummins. I don't know what WOP uses as a cor turbo for the QSSB though. I would go with either as well. WOP uses Hypermax's H2E mounting set up to mount their turbos with so that would give you several options to upgrade down the road.

Looking at that turbo in your link I'd pass on it. It will definatly need a rebuild looking at all the carrosion on it. I think they are like $350 or $400 for a new one so by the time you bought that one and had it rebuilt you'd be money ahead on a new one. Also look very carefully at any used ones you get. I'd try to get them for dirt cheap and woudl rebuild any that you get unless it's perfect. You just don't know their history.

I didnt know that the h2e was that cheep new. I was expecting somthing in the 800 to 900 range.
that make that mounting kit real expensive when the package deal for a stock H2E and mounting kit is like 2200

yup. I could be off on the price but I know it's nowhere near $800.

I see why no one prices them seperatly on there web sites. Oh well i was planning on building my own mounting kit anyway, that'll just be more money in my pocket for the other stuff I'll need.

the h2e turbo i got from hypermax is 69.85mm. i like it. kinda lagy but the whistle is loud. i have heard its not good with nitrious though. could be wrong on that. i think pdr sells or makes custom a h2e. the kit i bout was 2,500 from hypermax

I think Luke was in the 550 range with a modded H2E from Bean.

I'm not sure that the QSSB will support 500. Then again Kainers has one and is around 450 ish I think.

Inducer on an h2e i believe is 62mm, beans modded h2 is 66mm and IIRC hypermax's h2e is 70mm. the qssb is an s300 based turbo, its inducer is probably 62mm or so aswell.
