wait to start engine light

Before I give myself vertigo crawling under the dash has anyone had the wait to start engine light go out? I can hear my solonoid sp? clicking so that is ok. I just turn the key and wait a little bit but would like the light to work. Thanks for any help.

I believe that whole 4 light cluster, wait to start, water in fuel etc... is considered 1 module and has to be replaced, you can't just change 1 bulb....

Thats how it was in my 96. You had to change out the cluster and its not cheap if I remember right.

wait to start light

Too Loud, Got botom bezel off but can't get top bezel lto come fully loose. Just enough room to wedge my hand in there. Am I missing some screws or something? It seems to be fastened or stuck around the steering column.

Thanks

Not sure. I had the truck in for some other service and had the dealership do the dash lights as well. Sorry man...

wait to start light

ccp: The light came back on for a day or so but now is off again. The other items in that cluster show when I turn the key on. Maybe it is what you mentioned. What is the idm fuse and where is it?

Thanks

If that IDM fuse blew, the truck wouldn't run.

and, I think you CAN change the bulb in the cluster. I thought I saw turn-out light plugs on it. Even if, its worth ripping into it, cause you gotta buy a new one anyway.

Use an Awl to remove the headlight knob, there is a little metal catch in there, it digs into the headlight switch rod holding the knob on.

There is a screw there, behind the trim bezel and they just pop out, use a small screwdriver, but wrap it in a rag so you dont mark your dash for pete's sake, and same on the other side of the column. They are 8mm I believe. Remove those, and gently pull the instrument cluster bezel out. Place your truck in 1st gear, if its auto, and set the E-brake and gently work the bezel out, and unplug the Fuel Selector Switch, and the Gauge Panel.
