Unhappy Bad Idle and Hard Starting...

Ive had the truck for a month and originally everything was perfect. Start right up after glow plug light and running smooth and perfect... Now hard starting and will start easier if I hit the gas a bit. 2 Brand new batteries, get it going faster and faster seems like it is starving for fuel. Once it gets started it it has a rough idle, shakes the whole truck but only on an idle. You get the truck off and idle and its fine... I did replace the fuel filter and what brings me here is my lack of experience knowing why i am air out of the valve at the top of the fuel filter housing. I imagined that i needed to bleed it and did more than i thought could have been in there. I had the problem previous to the filter coming off and now it remains. I didn't want to start throwing money at what could be 6 different problems and didn't see anyone with the same exact symptoms. Thanks

If I understand you, your saying air is accumulating in the fuel filter? sounds like you either lost a pick up tube in your fuel tank (do you have 2 tanks and does it do it with both) or your lines from your fuel selector valve have a hole in it some where and your sucking air.. Theres also a little screen filter down inside the fuel bowl you may wanna check and clean with a q-tip..

I have 2 tanks and it has a problem with both tanks... I believe it is in the fuel line it just never leaks fuel. I put a line off the bleeder on top of the fuel filter housing yesterday and blead off air and fuel continually into a jug and it ran like a top and could shut off and it would start up without skipping a beat. No idle problem either. Am i right that it is the fuel line that is leaking between the junction of the fuel line block from both tanks to the fuel filter housing? Where do i get that line?
