Leveling Kit

So I have this buddy of mine who has this guy do all of his lifts on his truck and I talked to the guy and he said he could do a leveling kit for me installed at $300 He said he is going to weld his own blocks at whatever height I want(Which will probly be 2 inch) insted of adding leaves. Do you guys think it is worth it or should i just buy the leaves and u bolts and do it myself??? Whatever will be cheapest and RIGHT is what ill do...

Any talk of blocking the front is dangerous and stupid. DO NOT BLOCK YOUR FRONT AXLE, PERIOD. Its DANGEROUS. And STUPID.
"Mini" Spring packs are also a no no in my book. go with either a shackle lift, or AALs(WILL make your front end more "Jarring") or new aftermarket spring packs. Do it SAFE, do it CORRECTLY, and live to tell the tale. And tell your "Buddy" And his "Guy" That I said they are morons, unworthy of even being called hillbillies.
HeBLEEPll, I dont even like my back end having STOCK blocks....
Nuff said, drive through.

"MOby" The big white bio-burning 03 7.3 4x4. 6637, straight piped stock exhaust, and a new "secret" blend of Haul asBLEEPsing mods and upgrades. Suffice to say, its still not the fastest, but its quick enough to worry lots!

I went with the shackle lift, for ease of installation, no "block", cheap, no alignment needed. Raised about 1.5" for $70. All's good so far.

Well, this stupid moron went with the mini spring packs. I put them on two years ago. After install there was absolutely no change in ride or the way it drives. It is a two inch lift.

2006 Dodge Laramie Quad cab 4X4 muffler delete, that's it.

blocks are alright in some cases bit stacking blocks or using huge blocks is not a good choice, add-a-leafs are good, the spring pack leveling kits give you lift but make the truck ride really realy realy stiff, i just removed them from my truck and installed a Icon hangar and shackle kit. IMO if you just want a little bit of lift the hangar and shackle kit is the way to go, it will cost more money though.

I added that kit, you can use the existing u bolts. I know some people say not to, but i haven't had any problems. Just torque them and then check them after about 500 miles and retorque. The kit lifted the front of my truck between 1.5" and 2". It is just a hair under level but much better than it was. No difference in ride that I can tell. Hell, it's a 1 ton, what's it supposed to ride like?

There are many options. You just have to pick what you feel comfortable with.
