Serious HOPPING!!!

OK, It is all starting now. Power + Traction = Hopping.
I am looking for some traction bars and am debating on wether to make my own or buy a set.
If I buy a set it will need to be reasonable in price.
What are the suggestons.
I have considered Farmboy, Superlift, Caltracs, ect

It seems as though it would be the most cost effective alternative.
I am debating the single bar or the dual bar design.

if you can weld it is cheaper to just build your own bars. I built mine and it only cost me about 150 bucks. get some round tube and some tractor 3rd link bars and weld them up. I made mine single bar which is what alot of the guys on here and that i have seen at the pulls have. i made my mounts myself for the frame and for the axle.

Mickey Thompson Classic II Rims with 315/75R16 BF Mud Terrains, and 4 inch Rough Country lift kit

New Truck: 2000 F-450 XL 7.3L Standard Cab, 6 Speed Stock for now

Its not how fast you get there but how much you can pull on the way there.

Oh Ya I can weld no problem it is simply taking the time haha.
I actually have polyurethane bushings which have large bolt holes and they would insulate from harshness as well.
I designed an auto adjusting set for my 08' but just havent built anything yet.

sounds like you got it figured out then. The only thing that i can think of is the poly bushings might limit your articulation some but not sure. I agree finding the time can really be a pita sometimes. good luck and let us know how they turn out.

I built some using two bars and a shackle. Works great and doesn’t bind towing or offroad.

Dana60, 4'lift, 35's, Garage built traction bars headache rack and bumpers, fuel tanks, 2 10’s built in the back seat, lost of lights, Intercooler, ATS’ turbo housing, injectors, DP tuner, 4” exhaust, AFE intake, Exhaust brake, CB radio, clutch, 180,000 miles and still going!!!

I was having the same problems when I had stock tires/wheels. Upgraded to 18's with bigger tires and less air pressure and now I have no wheel hop issues...

You might not have any wheel hop issues now with the bigger tires but i bet if you watch when you take off you got real bad axle wrap. The only way to cure this completely is some sort of traction device.

I have never built a set but I do weld it would seem that square bar stock would be stronger and easier to fab.
