process of putting in new wheel and.....

I have the turbo out of the truck right now, and just got a new wheel on (X-Wheel). And was thinking about a few things, first the EB Valve delete, worth doing? And if you take the valve off would you just stick the rod back threw without the valve on it?
Other thing was the wastegate, it has threads to shorten it and make it if i shortened it..would it hold boost longer, or what ever it will do?
Thanks, sorry for long post
