Help, blown intercooler boot!

I have a friend that blew an intake boot on his truck and he's camping out in the middle of no where. The nearest Ford dealer is about 40 miles away. Would he be able to drive there with out wrecking some thing or am I going to have to go pick him up. Any help is much appreciated.

with no trailer or load, yes you can limp it there with no ill effects.... you just have to take it easy.... course it wont have much power anyway with the boot blown....

is the boot toar up? or just blown off?

They have a small boat with. I just called the dealer up there and they don't have any boots. The town does have an International dealer but I don't know if the parts are interchangable.

If the boot is torn up...I would put it back on as best I could...then wrap the bejezzus outa it with duct tape. You wouldn't be able to push it hard...but it should be able to get you back to civilization. As for the boat...I would lock it to a tree...and go back to get it later.

i would put it back on an drive it easy.. if its torn up wrap some of that grollia (spelling) tape around an an put a few clamps on it not tight but just to hold the shape.. an when you get back into town just replace it..

I allways clean my boots with carb cleaner an then use the cheap 99 cent hair spray no problems keepin boots on..

If you wrap it with tape just don't get on it too hard. Take it easy and it will be fine.
