Put My 7.3 on the Dyno

Took my truck to a show/dyno today. I learned two things...

1. As big as my truck seems to me on a daily basis, there are many that are much bigger.

2. Diesels can make some serious power.

Mine not have been the biggest or nearly the most powerful but it sure looked nice on the dyno.

Thanks, it was pretty cool even though the dyno was 1/2 broken. Everyone's torque reading was 1200.

Some guys were complaining that their horsepower was reading low also based upon previous dyno's.

But overall it was a cool experience, I recommend it.

This is me waiting in line. I told my friend that after posting such a low number Dale would repo my Tymar Performance sticker.

They seemed a little low for your truck. Did you take it out of overdrive? Did you wait for it to get to high gear before you romped on it? These thing can make a difference. The type of dino also can affect the numbers I still am not clear on that.

For this I had my Edge on setting 3 - Extreme +100 HP.

I don't know what the operator did. Some of the guys were saying he wasn't letting the turbo's build enough boost.

I thought it seemed a little low also as the truck is rated at 275 stock but who am I to argue?

I believe the factory HP rating is at the Flywheel But you should be 300 -325 IMO with 4" exhaust and your after market intake the 100hp of edge my be rated at the flywheel as well.
Getting the truck in high or locking the toque converter is what you want to do from what I have been told. I use to have a JT tune and when you shifted out of OD it locked the TC up that was nice for a lot of applications.

Thanks Bill, I was hoping to break the 300 mark. Regardless of the dyno results I'm very happy with the power/performance of my truck. It's a 7700lb rocket!
