only 72,000 miles

I got 72,000 on my truck in my sig, this morning went to go start her up and no go, just bellowed white smoke, so I started with checking the gpr, that checked out fine, after that noticed the coolant level was very low, from there checked the oil and thats very high, so its making oil and loosing coolant and a good guess is the coolant is going to the oil. i pulled the fuel filter all checked out good, so while i was in there dumped a little diesel 911 in cuz it got to freezing last night, it fired, died with a poof of blue and lots of white again, tried one more time and it fired and ran horidly running rough sounds like it may be missing too, then took it for a spin, nothing but blue smoke and zero power, once i got it up to op temps shut it down and it shut down hard. what yall think it is? Im guessing it has something to do with the coolant in the oil put how where what why?

Injector cups, most likely.

Don't try to start it until you get the issue resolved.

Sound JUST like what happend to my truck when It cracked both heads and all 8 pistions.

And wow you are running DP Tunes. 80E most the time I bet right?

Have fun.

On Edit: Injector cups more than likely would cause oil in coolant since the oil pressure at the cup is LOT higher then coolant pressure would be.
Blown HG or cracked head would more than likely be the issue.

So which is it? Oil cooler issue? Cracked injector cups? Injector o-rings?

Trey, did you make up your mind yet?

Oh wait, it has to be major engine issues associated since he just happened to be running tunes from someone you don't like.

Truth is, it could be any one of a number of issues from really bad fuel to injector problems to major engine damage (doubtful, though) caused by any other number of things.

Buckshot, get it to a shop that can get to the bottom of it if you don't feel comfortable diagnosing the problem; but by all means let us know what you find.

Dude what is your deal with me?

I just think its funny that i have seen more then one motor have this issue running DP Tunes. Never said it was the issue did I?

Let me explane this so you understand.

Coolant in oil - Head Gasket or Cracked head.
This can not happen with a crack injector cup because the oil pressure is higher than coolant pressure. And if it was happening that way it would be VERY slow doing so and would probably hydrolock the cylinder.

Oil in coolant - Oil Cooler O-Rings OR injector cup since the oil pressure IS higher than coolant pressure.

Go read again.

But yes it could be a NUMBER of things.

I am comfortable diagnosing it, but my time constraints suck, going to school for diesel and also working after school at a place called prostop doing rebuilds maint. and so on and so forth on class 8otr trucks, gone from home from 5am-11 at night, only time I got is weekends. it is at the stealership now because it is still under warranty just waiting to see what they have to say on it. And yes I did run the 80e, there was no warning to this just happened

The dealership will warranty it even though you are running the DP? That must be nice.

Mine was the exact same way when it happend. Still ran fine just had green oil. I ran a leak down test, presser test of all 8 cylinders and i pressureized the coolant and still could find out what was wrong it all came back good.

I finally pulled the motor. Head Gaskets where good but i had the heads pressure tested and magnifluxed and they where both cracked all over. Also all 8 pistions where cracked... But that didnt have anything to do with the coolant in the oil.

I hope you find out what the issue is and its not to hard to fix.
