Exhaust smell from heater vents

I just bought an 01 F 250 with the superchips flash paq tuner and no other performance mods(that I can see). I have noticed an exhaust smell in the cab when I turn the heat on. Any ideas on what the problem could be?

more than likely up pipes check all your clamping areas for leaks if your smelling it in the cab with the heater on most likely in engine compartment... Get that taken care of asap because that will kill you if it is bad enough and you are in there long enough with no ventilation

The truck has been a little sluggish lately, I just didn't get around to checking that out yet. Two birds with one stone, sounds good to me. Thanks

There's not a huge amount of diagnosis you need to do--simply check around the manifold-to-uppipe and uppipe-to-collector (might need a mirror on a stick if there's a small leak there) joints to see if there's any soot accumulation. Those joints shouldn't leak at all, so if you see soot buildup, R/R'ing the uppipes is one more thing to add to your "to-do" list.

It's worse for the driver than the truck... you're being poisoned with exhaust. Had the same problem on my rig last year. I couldn't understand why I was getting these bad headaches and fatigue when driving long distances, but I had no exhaust smell. Git r done ASAP!
