ATS Ported Housing Tips

I just ordered the ATS turbo housing for my 2000 7.3... the turbo surge was driving me crazy. is there anything i should know or any tips that might help me before i tear into it? im sitting here waiting on the UPS man now... ready to get-r-done.

Buy a couple new c-clips for the wastegate actuator rod since you'll almost certainly lose the stock one trying to get it removed and use a compressor+blower nozzle set to ~20 lbs. on the inlet of the wastegate actuator to extend the rod out and make removal easier.

is there anywhere i can go to look at how the c clips work? i cant see to well with it on the truck. i can unhook it better if i know how it clips on.

They're just standard C clips... Do yourself a favor and delete the EBPV.

Put the two housing's down on a flat surface and measure the tab for the waste gate actuator. Some of them are off by .400 and you need to shorten the arm to match so the gate stays closed under boost. BTW it did stop the surging when I used it years ago. Hope this helps.

well, i got it in.... all except for that dang C Clip... its kickin my butt... any secrets to puttin that thing back on? ive been thru 4 of them...
